Meni

MENI mə nē' (מְנִ֥י). A deity named with Gad in Isaiah 65:11, “But you who forsake the Lord, who forget my holy mountain, who set a table for Fortune and fill cups of mixed wine for Destiny.” Gad is Fortune and Meni is Destiny. In the rites referred to in this verse a table was spread, furnished with food as a meal for the gods. Gad and Meni were worshiped by apostate Jews. It is possible that they were Babylonian deities, but the evidence points to Western Asia as the natural environment of this cult. The KJV has “troop” for Gad, and “number” for Meni.
