MARSH (בִּצָּה, H1289, גֶּ֫בֶא, H1465, בֹּץ, H1288, טִיט, H3226). There are very few marshes in Pal., except along the Dead Sea, because of the dryness of the climate. In Ezekiel 47 the prophet foretells future blessings for Israel, and writes that the marshes around the sea (prob. the Dead Sea) shall not be sweetened, but left as beds for digging salt. The references in Job 8:11 and 40:21 are prob. to marshes in Egypt, where there are many in the Nile delta.
