MAHER-SHALAL-HASH-BAZmā’ ər shăl’ əl hăsh’ băz (מַהֵ֥ר שָׁלָ֖ל חָ֥שׁ בַּֽז, the spoil speeds, the prey hastes, Isa 8:1 RSVmg.). A symbolic name given to one of Isaiah’s sons to signify the speedy destruction of Rezin and Pekah by the king of Assyria (Isa 8:1, 3).
