MAGBISH măg’ bĭsh (מַגְבִּ֔ישׁ). Either a town in Judah or a family of returning exiles (Ezra 2:30; 1 Esd 5:21 KJV NEPHIS, ASV NIPHIS). The name is not found in the parallel passage, Nehemiah 7:33. If it is a town, it is possibly to be identified with Khirbet el-Mahbiyet, c. three m. SW of Adullam.
