LAISH lā’ ĭsh (לַיִשׁ׃֒). 1. A Canaanite city in N Pal. captured by the Danites and called by them Dan (Judg 18:7, 14, 27, 29); called Leshem in Joshua 19:47.
2. A Benjaminite, the father of Paltiel (Palti in 1 Sam 25:44), to whom Saul gave Michal, David’s wife (1 Sam 25:44; 2 Sam 3:15).
