Zechariah 7:12-14

12 They hardened their hearts like flint, afraid to hear the words that God, the Lord Almighty, commanded them—the laws he had revealed to them by his Spirit through the early prophets. That is why such great wrath came down on them from God. 13 I called, but they refused to listen, so when they cried to me, I turned away. 14 I scattered them as with a whirlwind among the far-off nations. Their land became desolate; no one even traveled through it; the Pleasant Land lay bare and blighted.”

New International Version
12 They made their hearts as hard as flint(A) and would not listen to the law or to the words that the Lord Almighty had sent by his Spirit through the earlier prophets.(B) So the Lord Almighty was very angry.(C)
13 “‘When I called, they did not listen;(D) so when they called, I would not listen,’(E) says the Lord Almighty.(F) 14 ‘I scattered(G) them with a whirlwind(H) among all the nations, where they were strangers. The land they left behind them was so desolate that no one traveled through it.(I) This is how they made the pleasant land desolate.(J)’”
