8 [a]Three shepherds also I cut off in one month, and my soul loathed [b]them, and their soul abhorred me.
9 Then said I, I will not feed you: that that dieth, let it die: and that that perisheth, let it perish: and let the remnant eat, everyone the flesh of his neighbor.
10 And I took my staff, even Beauty, and brake it, that I might disannul my covenant, which I had made with all people.

New International Version
8 In one month I got rid of the three shepherds.
The flock detested(A) me, and I grew weary of them 9 and said, “I will not be your shepherd. Let the dying die, and the perishing perish.(B) Let those who are left eat(C) one another’s flesh.”
10 Then I took my staff called Favor(D) and broke it, revoking(E) the covenant I had made with all the nations.
