47 (A)Kino kye kigambo kya Mukama Katonda ekyajjira nnabbi Yeremiya ekikwata ku Bafirisuuti nga Falaawo tannalumba Gaza nga kigamba nti:
2 (B)Bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda nti,
“Laba amazzi agatumbira mu bukiikakkono,
galifuuka omugga ogwanjaala.
Galyanjaala ku nsi
ne mu bibuga byonna ebigirimu n’ababituulamu.
Abantu balikaaba;
bonna abali mu nsi baliwowoggana.
3 Olw’emisinde gy’embalaasi ezidduka
n’okufuumuuka kw’amagaali g’omulabe
era n’okuwuuma kwa nnamuziga,
bakitaabwe tebajja kukyuka kuyamba baana baabwe,
emikono gyabwe gya kulebera.
4 (C)Kubanga olunaku lutuuse
okuzikiriza Abafirisuuti bonna,
n’okusalako bonna abandisigaddewo
abandiyambye Ttuulo ne Sidoni.
Mukama wa kuzikiriza Abafirisuuti
abaasigalawo ku mbalama z’ekizinga Kafutoli.
5 (D)Gaza alimwa omutwe gwe ng’akungubaga.
Asukulooni alisirisibwa.
Ggwe eyasigala mu kiwonvu,
olituusa ddi okwesalaasala?
6 (E)“ ‘Ayi ggwe ekitala kya Mukama Katonda, okaaba,
obudde bunaatuuka ddi owummule?
Ddayo mu kiraato kyo
sirika teweenyeenya.’
7 Naye kiyinza kitya okuwummula
nga Mukama y’akiragidde,
ng’akiragidde
okulumba Asukulooni n’olubalama lw’ennyanja?”

A Message About the Philistines
47 This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines(A) before Pharaoh attacked Gaza:(B)
2 This is what the Lord says:
“See how the waters are rising in the north;(C)
they will become an overflowing torrent.
They will overflow the land and everything in it,
the towns and those who live in them.
The people will cry out;
all who dwell in the land will wail(D)
3 at the sound of the hooves of galloping steeds,
at the noise of enemy chariots(E)
and the rumble of their wheels.
Parents will not turn to help their children;
their hands will hang limp.(F)
4 For the day has come
to destroy all the Philistines
and to remove all survivors
who could help Tyre(G) and Sidon.(H)
The Lord is about to destroy the Philistines,(I)
the remnant from the coasts of Caphtor.[a](J)
5 Gaza will shave(K) her head in mourning;
Ashkelon(L) will be silenced.
You remnant on the plain,
how long will you cut(M) yourselves?

5 (B)Zibasanze mmwe ababeera ku lubalama lw’ennyanja,
eggwanga ery’Abakeresi!
Ekigambo kya Mukama kikwolekedde,
ggwe Kanani, ensi ey’Abafirisuuti.
