19 (A)Ne Babulooni, ekitiibwa eky’obwakabaka,
obulungi obw’okwemanya kw’Abakaludaaya,
kiriba nga Sodomu ne Ggomola
Katonda bye yawamba.
20 (B)Tekiriddamu kusulwamu ennaku zonna,
so tekiribeerwamu emirembe n’emirembe,
so teri Muwalabu alisimbayo weema ye,
teri musumba aligalamizaayo ggana lye kuwummulirayo.
21 (C)Naye ensolo enkambwe ez’omu ddungu ze zinaagalamirangayo;
ennyumba zijjule ebintu ebiwoowoola;
bammaaya banaabeeranga eyo,
n’ebikulekule bibuukire eyo.
22 (D)N’empisi zinaakaabiranga mu bigulumu by’ebigo byabwe,
ebibe bikaabire mu mbiri zaabwe ezitemagana.
Ekiseera kyakyo kinaatera okutuuka,
ennaku ze teziryongerwako.

19 Babylon,(A) the jewel of kingdoms,(B)
the pride and glory(C) of the Babylonians,[a]
will be overthrown(D) by God
like Sodom and Gomorrah.(E)
20 She will never be inhabited(F)
or lived in through all generations;
there no nomads(G) will pitch their tents,
there no shepherds will rest their flocks.
21 But desert creatures(H) will lie there,
jackals(I) will fill her houses;
there the owls(J) will dwell,
and there the wild goats(K) will leap about.
22 Hyenas(L) will inhabit her strongholds,(M)
jackals(N) her luxurious palaces.
Her time is at hand,(O)
and her days will not be prolonged.(P)

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
20 It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
21 But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
22 And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
