²¹ Therefore this is what the Lord says about the people of Anathoth^(A) who are threatening to kill you,^(B) saying, “Do not prophesy^(C) in the name of the Lord or you will die^(D) by our hands”—

¹³ Don’t prophesy anymore at Bethel,^(A) because this is the king’s sanctuary and the temple^(B) of the kingdom.^(C)”

⁸ The king of Israel answered Jehoshaphat, “There is still one prophet through whom we can inquire of the Lord, but I hate^(A) him because he never prophesies anything good^(B) about me, but always bad. He is Micaiah son of Imlah.”

“The king should not say such a thing,” Jehoshaphat replied.

⁷ Have you not seen false visions^(A) and uttered lying divinations when you say, “The Lord declares,” though I have not spoken?

¹⁸ For such people are not serving our Lord Christ,^(A) but their own appetites.^(B) By smooth talk and flattery they deceive^(C) the minds of naive people.
