²⁰ Still, I realized that I would never receive Wisdom unless God gave her to me—and knowing that only God could give her to me was itself a sign of understanding. So I prayed, begging the Lord with all my heart:

¹³ When I was still young, before I started out on my travels, I boldly prayed for Wisdom. ¹⁴ I went to the Temple and asked for her, and I will look for her as long as I live.
