11-12 Boaz answered her, “I’ve heard all about you—heard about the way you treated your mother-in-law after the death of her husband, and how you left your father and mother and the land of your birth and have come to live among a bunch of total strangers. God reward you well for what you’ve done—and with a generous bonus besides from God, to whom you’ve come seeking protection under his wings.”

13 She said, “Oh sir, such grace, such kindness—I don’t deserve it. You’ve touched my heart, treated me like one of your own. And I don’t even belong here!”

11 Boaz replied, “I’ve been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law(A) since the death of your husband(B)—how you left your father and mother and your homeland and came to live with a people you did not know(C) before.(D) 12 May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord,(E) the God of Israel,(F) under whose wings(G) you have come to take refuge.(H)

13 “May I continue to find favor in your eyes,(I) my lord,” she said. “You have put me at ease by speaking kindly to your servant—though I do not have the standing of one of your servants.”
