The Promise Granted through Faith

¹³ For the promise to Abraham^(A) or to his descendants that he would inherit the world^(B) was not through the law, but through the righteousness that comes by faith.^[a]

¹⁶ This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace,^(A) to guarantee it to all the descendants^(B)—not only to those who are of the law^[a] but also to those who are of Abraham’s faith. He is the father of us all

²⁹ And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, heirs^(A) according to the promise.^(B)

²⁸ Now you, brothers, like Isaac,^(A) are children of promise.^(B)

¹¹ By faith even Sarah herself, when she was unable to have children, received power to conceive offspring, even though she was past the age, since she^[a] considered that the One who had promised was faithful.^(A)
