Romans 9:5-7
Christian Standard Bible

5 The ancestors are theirs,(A) and from them, by physical descent,[a] came the Christ,(B) who is God(C) over all,(D) praised forever.[b](E) Amen.

6 Now it is not as though the word of God has failed,(F) because not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.(G) 7 Neither is it the case that all of Abraham’s children are his descendants.[c](H) On the contrary, your offspring will be traced[d] through Isaac.[e](I)

New International Version

5 Theirs are the patriarchs,(A) and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah,(B) who is God over all,(C) forever praised![a](D) Amen.

God’s Sovereign Choice

6 It is not as though God’s word(E) had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.(F) 7 Nor because they are his descendants are they all Abraham’s children. On the contrary, “It is through Isaac that your offspring will be reckoned.”[b](G)
