4 Which are the Israelites, to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the [a]glory, and the (A)[b]Covenants, and the giving of the [c]Law, and the [d]service of God, and the [e]promises.
5 Of whom are the fathers, and of whom concerning the flesh, Christ came, who is [f]God over all, blessed forever, Amen.
6 (B)[g]Notwithstanding it cannot be that the word of God should take none effect: for all they are not [h]Israel, which are of Israel:

So then this is the proposition and state of this Treatise: The grace of salvation is offered generally in such sort, that notwithstanding it, the efficacy thereof pertaineth only to the elect.

4 the people of Israel.(A) Theirs is the adoption to sonship;(B) theirs the divine glory,(C) the covenants,(D) the receiving of the law,(E) the temple worship(F) and the promises.(G) 5 Theirs are the patriarchs,(H) and from them is traced the human ancestry of the Messiah,(I) who is God over all,(J) forever praised![a](K) Amen.

6 It is not as though God’s word(L) had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel.(M)
