10 Your body will always be dead because of sin. But if Christ is in you, then the Spirit gives you life, because Christ made you right with God. 11 God raised Jesus from death. And if God’s Spirit is living in you, then he will also give life to your bodies that die. God is the One who raised Christ from death. And he will give life through[a] his Spirit that lives in you.
12 So, my brothers, we must not be ruled by our sinful selves. We must not live the way our sinful selves want.

10 But if Christ is in you,(A) then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life[a] because of righteousness. 11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead(B) is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies(C) because of[b] his Spirit who lives in you.
12 Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.(D)
