19 For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice. 20 But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me. 21 I find then the law that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.

19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.(A) 20 Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it.(B)

21 So I find this law at work:(C) Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
