4 We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have become [a]united with him in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection; 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away, that so we should no longer be in bondage to sin;

4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death(A) in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead(B) through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.(C)
5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.(D) 6 For we know that our old self(E) was crucified with him(F) so that the body ruled by sin(G) might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin(H)—
