¹⁰ For the death he died, he died to sin once for all time; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

²⁸ so also Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many,^(A) will appear a second time,^(B) not to bear sin, but^[a] to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.^(C)

¹⁰ By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.^(A)

²¹ For you were called to this, because Christ also suffered^(A) for you, leaving you an example,^(B) that you should follow^(C) in his steps.

4 Therefore, since Christ suffered^[a] in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same understanding^[b]—because the one who suffers in the flesh is finished^(A) with sin^[c]—
