4 (A)May it never be! Rather, let God be true and every man (B)a liar, as it is written,
5 But if our unrighteousness [b](D)demonstrates the righteousness of God, (E)what shall we say? Is the God who inflicts wrath unrighteous? ((F)I am speaking in human terms.) 6 (G)May it never be! For otherwise, how will (H)God judge the world?

4 Not at all! Let God be true,(A) and every human being a liar.(B) As it is written:
5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly,(D) what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.)(E) 6 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world?(F)
