17 I urge you, brothers and sisters,[a] to keep an eye on those who cause dissensions and offences, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned; avoid them. 18 For such people do not serve our Lord Christ, but their own appetites,[b] and by smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the simple-minded.

17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned.(B) Keep away from them.(C) 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ,(D) but their own appetites.(E) By smooth talk and flattery they deceive(F) the minds of naive people.
