Romans 11:4-6

4 But what answer did God give Elijah? He said, “But I have left 7,000 people in Israel. Those 7,000 have never bowed down before Baal.”[a] 5 It is the same now. There are a few people that God has chosen by his grace. 6 And if God chose them by grace, then it is not for the things they have done. If they could be made God’s people by what they did, then God’s gift of grace would not really be a gift.

Romans 11:4-6
New International Version
4 And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.”[a](A) 5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant(B) chosen by grace.(C) 6 And if by grace, then it cannot be based on works;(D) if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
