The beast opened his mouth to speak blasphemies against God: to blaspheme his name, his dwelling, and[a] those who dwell in heaven. He was also given permission to wage war against the saints and to overcome them, as well as authority over every tribe and people and language and nation. All those who make their home on the earth will worship the beast—those whose names have[b] not been written from the beginning of the world in the Book of Life, which belongs to the Lamb that was slain.[c]

It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven.(A) It was given power to wage war(B) against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.(C) All inhabitants of the earth(D) will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,(E) the Lamb(F) who was slain from the creation of the world.[a](G)
