[a] These two have the power to shut the heavens, so that no rain may fall during the days of their prophesying.[b] And they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they wish.[c]

When they have finished their testimony, the beast that rises from the abyss will make war on them, and overcome them and kill them. [d] And their corpses will lie in the open street[e] of the great city that figuratively is called Sodom and Egypt—where also their[f] Lord was crucified.

They have power to shut up the heavens(A) so that it will not rain during the time they are prophesying;(B) and they have power to turn the waters into blood(C) and to strike the earth with every kind of plague as often as they want.

Now when they have finished their testimony, the beast(D) that comes up from the Abyss(E) will attack them,(F) and overpower and kill them. Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city(G)—which is figuratively called Sodom(H) and Egypt—where also their Lord was crucified.(I)
