^7 (A)All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They ^[a]shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

⁸ Deliver me from all my transgressions;
Do not make me ^(A)the reproach of the foolish.

⁸ So He will make them stumble over their own tongue;
^(A)All who see them shall flee away.

¹⁶ To make their land ^(A)desolate and a perpetual ^(B)hissing;
Everyone who passes by it will be astonished
And shake his head.

²⁷ For ^(A)was not Israel a derision to you?
^(B)Was he found among thieves?
For whenever you speak of him,
You shake your head in ^(C)scorn.

¹⁶ For the statutes of ^(A)Omri are ^(B)kept;
All the works of Ahab’s house are done;
And you walk in their counsels,
That I may make you a ^[a]desolation,
And your inhabitants a hissing.
Therefore you shall bear the ^(C)reproach of ^[b]My people.”
