⁷ His mouth is full^(A) of lies and threats;^(B)
    trouble and evil are under his tongue.^(C)

¹⁹ You use your mouth for evil
    and harness your tongue to deceit.^(A)

¹⁴ The Lord enters into judgment^(A)
    against the elders and leaders of his people:
“It is you who have ruined my vineyard;
    the plunder^(B) from the poor^(C) is in your houses.

¹⁸ Woe^(A) to those who draw sin along with cords^(B) of deceit,
    and wickedness^(C) as with cart ropes,

“Because you have rejected this message,^(B)
    relied on oppression^(C)
    and depended on deceit,

⁵ Why then have these people turned away?
    Why does Jerusalem always turn away?
They cling to deceit;^(A)
    they refuse to return.^(B)

⁹ On that day I will punish
    all who avoid stepping on the threshold,^[a](A)
who fill the temple of their gods
    with violence and deceit.^(B)
