⁹The Lord is ^(A)a stronghold for ^(B)the oppressed,
a stronghold in ^(C)times of trouble.

⁹The Lord is a refuge^(A) for the oppressed,^(B)
a stronghold in times of trouble.^(C)

¹⁸to ^(A)do justice to the fatherless and ^(B)the oppressed,
so that ^(C)man who is of the earth may strike terror no more.

¹⁸defending the fatherless^(A) and the oppressed,^(B)
so that mere earthly mortals
will never again strike terror.
