6 (A)That the generation to come might know, even (B)the children yet to be born,
That they may arise and (C)recount them to their children,
7 That they should set their confidence in God
And (D)not forget the deeds of God,
But (E)observe His commandments,
8 And (F)not be like their fathers,
A (G)stubborn and rebellious generation,
A generation that (H)did not [a]prepare its heart
And whose spirit was not (I)faithful to God.

8 They would not be like their ancestors(D)—
a stubborn(E) and rebellious(F) generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.
