Psalm 78:6-8

6 That the generation to come might know them, even the sons which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their sons
7 that they might set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep his commandments
8 and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set their heart aright and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

New International Version
6 so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,(A)
and they in turn would tell their children.
7 Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget(B) his deeds
but would keep his commands.(C)
8 They would not be like their ancestors(D)—
a stubborn(E) and rebellious(F) generation,
whose hearts were not loyal to God,
whose spirits were not faithful to him.
