6-7 For promotion and power come from nowhere on earth, but only from God. He promotes one and deposes another. 8 In Jehovah’s hand there is a cup of pale and sparkling wine. It is his judgment, poured out upon the wicked of the earth. They must drain that cup to the dregs.

6 No one from the east or the west
or from the desert can exalt themselves.
7 It is God who judges:(A)
He brings one down, he exalts another.(B)
8 In the hand of the Lord is a cup
full of foaming wine mixed(C) with spices;
he pours it out, and all the wicked of the earth
drink it down to its very dregs.(D)
