¹² Am I the sea,^(A) or the monster of the deep,^(B)
    that you put me under guard?^(C)

    clothe yourself with strength!^(C)
Awake, as in days gone by,

Was it not you who cut Rahab^(E) to pieces,
    who pierced that monster^(F) through?

    the waters of the great deep,^(H)
