8 Come, behold the works of the Lord,
Who has made desolations in the earth.
9 (A)He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;
(B)He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two;
(C)He burns the chariot in the fire.
10 Be still, and know that I am God;
(D)I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!

the desolations(B) he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars(C) cease
to the ends of the earth.
He breaks the bow(D) and shatters the spear;
he burns the shields[a] with fire.(E)
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;(F)
I will be exalted(G) among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
