9 For *he* spoke, and it was [done]; *he* commanded, and it stood fast.

10 Jehovah frustrateth the counsel of the nations; he maketh the thoughts of the peoples of none effect.

11 The counsel of Jehovah standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.

9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
    he commanded,(A) and it stood firm.

10 The Lord foils(B) the plans(C) of the nations;(D)
    he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11 But the plans of the Lord stand firm(E) forever,
    the purposes(F) of his heart through all generations.
