¹ You, Lord, are my shepherd.
    I will never be in need.

^2 (A) You let me rest in fields
    of green grass.
You lead me to streams
of peaceful water,

^10 (A) They won't go hungry
    or get thirsty;
they won't be bothered
by the scorching sun
    or hot desert winds.
I will be merciful
while leading them along
    to streams of water.

^8 (A) The Lord All-Powerful
will destroy the power of death
    and wipe away all tears.
No longer will his people
be insulted everywhere.
    The Lord has spoken!
