2 Why do ^(A)the ^[a]nations rage
And the peoples ^(B)meditate on a vain thing?
² The ^(C)kings of the earth take their stand
And the rulers take counsel together
^(D)Against Yahweh and against His ^[b](E)Anointed, saying,

² Your tongue devises ^(A)destruction,
Like a ^(B)sharp razor, ^(C)O worker of deceit.

30 “Woe to the ^(A)rebellious children,” declares Yahweh,
“Who ^(B)execute counsel, but not Mine,
And ^[a](C)make an alliance, but not of My Spirit,
In order to add sin to sin,

2 Woe to those who ^(A)devise wickedness,
Who work out evil on their beds!
^(B)When the light of the morning comes, they do it,
For it is in the ^(C)power of their hands.
