  1. 129:7 The grass quickly dies because there is no earth on a roof. Because of that, there will be no fruit. So the gardener and the farmer have nothing that they can use.

May they be like grass on the roof,(A)
    which withers(B) before it can grow;
a reaper cannot fill his hands with it,(C)
    nor one who gathers fill his arms.
May those who pass by not say to them,
    “The blessing of the Lord be on you;
