Psalm 12:5-7
Christian Standard Bible

5 “Because of the devastation of the needy
and the groaning of the poor,
I will now rise up,” says the Lord.
“I will provide safety for the one who longs for it.”(A)

6 The words of the Lord are pure words,
like silver refined in an earthen furnace,
purified seven times.(B)

7 You, Lord, will guard us;[a]
you will protect us[b] from this generation forever.(C)

5 “Because the poor are plundered(A) and the needy groan,(B)
    I will now arise,(C)” says the Lord.
    “I will protect them(D) from those who malign them.”
6 And the words of the Lord are flawless,(E)
    like silver purified(F) in a crucible,(G)
    like gold[a] refined seven times.

7 You, Lord, will keep the needy safe(H)
    and will protect us forever from the wicked,(I)
