⁵ “Because the poor are plundered^(A) and the needy groan,^(B)
    I will now arise,^(C)” says the Lord.
    “I will protect them^(D) from those who malign them.”

⁶ God sets the lonely^(A) in families,^[a](B)
    he leads out the prisoners^(C) with singing;
    but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.^(D)

⁷ He upholds^(A) the cause of the oppressed^(B)
    and gives food to the hungry.^(C)
