    because they have ^(C)wronged me with falsehood;
    as for me, I will ^(D)meditate on your precepts.

^85 (A)The insolent have ^(B)dug pitfalls for me;
    they do not live according to your law.

¹²² Give your servant ^(A)a pledge of good;
    let not ^(B)the insolent oppress me.

⁷ O Lord, ^(A)you have deceived me,
    and I was deceived;
^(B)you are stronger than I,
    and you have prevailed.
^(C)I have become a laughing-stock all the day;
    everyone mocks me.

^3 (A)My tears have been my food
    day and night,
^(B)while they say to me all the day long,
    “Where is your God?”

⁴ Our soul has had more than enough
    of ^(A)the scorn of ^(B)those who are at ease,
    of the contempt of ^(C)the proud.
