  1. 109:4 accuse means ‘to say that someone has done wrong things’. The word comes again in verses 6, 20 and 31. This may happen in a court, where there is a judge. The writer says that his enemies accuse him, when he has not done anything that is wrong. They are telling lies.

In return for my friendship they accuse me,
    but I am a man of prayer.(A)
They repay me evil for good,(B)
    and hatred for my friendship.

Appoint someone evil to oppose my enemy;
    let an accuser(C) stand at his right hand.
