37 They (A)sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the (B)demons,
38 And they shed (C)innocent blood,
The blood of their (D)sons and their daughters,
Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan;
And the land was (E)polluted with the blood.
39 Thus they became (F)unclean in their works,
And (G)played the harlot in their actions.

38 They shed innocent blood,
the blood of their sons(C) and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was desecrated by their blood.
39 They defiled themselves(D) by what they did;
by their deeds they prostituted(E) themselves.
