⁶ For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly [those living outside God’s will] shall perish (end in ruin and come to nought).

⁵ I knew (recognized, understood, and had regard for) you in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

¹⁴ I am the Good Shepherd; and I know and recognize My own, and My own know and recognize Me—

²⁷ The sheep that are My own hear and are listening to My voice; and I know them, and they follow Me.
