Psalm 69:29-33
New English Translation
29 I am oppressed and suffering.
O God, deliver and protect me.[a]
30 I will sing praises to God’s name.[b]
I will magnify him as I give him thanks.[c]
31 That will please the Lord more than an ox or a bull
with horns and hooves.
32 The oppressed look on—let them rejoice.
You who seek God,[d] may you be encouraged.[e]
33 For the Lord listens to the needy;
he does not despise his captive people.[f]

29 But as for me, afflicted and in pain—
may your salvation, God, protect me.(A)
30 I will praise God’s name in song(B)
and glorify him(C) with thanksgiving.
31 This will please the Lord more than an ox,
more than a bull with its horns and hooves.(D)
32 The poor will see and be glad(E)—
you who seek God, may your hearts live!(F)
33 The Lord hears the needy(G)
and does not despise his captive people.
