Proverbs 28:11-13

Expanded Bible

¹¹Rich people may ·think they are wise [^Lbe wise in their own eyes],
but the poor with understanding will ·prove them wrong [see through them].

¹²When ·good [righteous] people ·triumph [or rejoice], there is great happiness,
but when the wicked ·get control [^Lrise up], everybody hides.

¹³If you hide your sins, you will not succeed.
If you confess and ·reject [abandon] them, you will receive ·mercy [compassion].

¹¹The rich are wise in their own eyes;
one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.

¹²When the righteous triumph, there is great elation;^(A)
but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.^(B)

¹³Whoever conceals their sins^(C) does not prosper,
but the one who confesses^(D) and renounces them finds mercy.^(E)
