^25-26The lazy man longs for many things, but his hands refuse to work. He is greedy to get, while the godly love to give!

²⁷God loathes the gifts of evil men, especially if they are trying to bribe him!

²⁸No one believes a liar, but everyone respects the words of an honest man.

New International Version

²⁶All day long he craves for more,
but the righteous^(A) give without sparing.^(B)

²⁷The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable^(C)—
how much more so when brought with evil intent!^(D)

²⁸A false witness^(E) will perish,^(F)
but a careful listener will testify successfully.
