Proverbs 21:26-28

Good News Translation

²⁶all they do is think about what they would like to have. The righteous, however, can give, and give generously.

²⁷^(A)The Lord hates it when wicked people offer him sacrifices, especially if they do it from evil motives.

²⁸The testimony of a liar is not believed, but the word of someone who thinks matters through is accepted.

Proverbs 21:26-28

New International Version

²⁶All day long he craves for more,
but the righteous^(A) give without sparing.^(B)

²⁷The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable^(C)—
how much more so when brought with evil intent!^(D)

²⁸A false witness^(E) will perish,^(F)
but a careful listener will testify successfully.
