Proverbs 21:26-28

Expanded Bible

²⁶All day long they wish for more,
but ·good [righteous] people give without holding back.

²⁷The Lord ·hates [detests] sacrifices brought by evil people,
particularly when they offer them for ·the wrong [scheming] reasons.

²⁸A lying witness will ·be forgotten [perish],
but a truthful witness will speak on.

²⁶All day long he craves for more,
but the righteous^(A) give without sparing.^(B)

²⁷The sacrifice of the wicked is detestable^(C)—
how much more so when brought with evil intent!^(D)

²⁸A false witness^(E) will perish,^(F)
but a careful listener will testify successfully.
