²⁸^(A)Steadfast love and faithfulness preserve the king,
and by steadfast love his ^(B)throne is upheld.

New International Version

²⁸Love and faithfulness keep a king safe;
through love^(A) his throne is made secure.^(B)

¹⁴^(A)Justice is turned back,
and righteousness stands far away;
for truth has stumbled in the public squares,
and uprightness cannot enter.

¹⁴So justice^(A) is driven back,
and righteousness^(B) stands at a distance;
truth^(C) has stumbled in the streets,
honesty cannot enter.
