Proverbs 19:16-18

¹⁶The one who keeps commands preserves himself;^(A)
one who disregards^[a] his ways will die.^(B)

¹⁷Kindness to the poor is a loan to the Lord,^(C)
and He will give a reward to the lender.^[b]^(D)

¹⁸Discipline your son while there is hope;
don’t be intent on killing him.^[c]^(E)
