28 Therefore I sent him more-eagerly, in order that having seen him again you may rejoice, and I may be less-grieved. 29 So receive him in the Lord with all joy, and be holding such ones precious, 30 because he drew-near to the point of death for the sake of the work of Christ— having risked his life in order that he might fill-up your lack[a] of service to me.

28 Therefore I am all the more eager to send him,(A) so that when you see him again you may be glad and I may have less anxiety. 29 So then, welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,(B) 30 because he almost died for the work of Christ. He risked his life to make up for the help you yourselves could not give me.(C)
